PORTAGE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An Amber Alert has been issued for a six-year-old girl from Portage County.
Authorities say Ruby Lehman was last seen around 3:30 p.m. Thursday at her grandmother’s house in the village of Almond. Shortly after arriving home from school, a suspect vehicle, believed to be driven by her uncle, stopped briefly at the residence and then left.
Lehman has not been seen since.
Portage County Sheriff Mike Lukas held a press conference Friday. He says his department has pulled in resources from the FBI and DCI to find Ruby.
He says he believes the girl and her uncle, 34-year-old Jordan Coyle, are still in the tri-county area of Portage, Wood and Waushara. Lukas adds that the family says Ruby has a close relationship with her uncle.
Lehman is described as a white female, 4’0″ and 100 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a lavender dress with smiley faces and white shoes with Lilo and Stitch on them.
Coyle is described as a white male, 6’3″ and 250 pounds, with red hair, blue eyes and a beard and mustache.
Coyle has several tattoos: a peace symbol on his left breast and a dinosaur, puppy, butterfly and cat on his arm.
Sheriff Lukas says this situation is heightened, given Coyle’s criminal history, which includes second degree sexual assault of a child.
Coyle’s vehicle is a 2001 white Ford F250 truck with a Wisconsin license plate WC2249. It has a toolbox in the bed and the tailgate has paint peeling off and showing silver.
