DAYTON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A pedestrian who was hit by a utility vehicle Saturday evening in the town of Dayton, in Waupaca County, died on the scene, the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office said.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Communications Center got a report of a person hit by a vehicle on County Highway Q near Mary St. around 5:20 p.m. yesterday. Law enforcement and medical personnel responded and started life-saving measures but the person was pronounced dead.
An initial report shows the driver of the utility vehicle was headed west on County Highway Q when it hit the pedestrian in the road, came to a stop, and stayed at the scene. The driver was uninjured and is cooperating, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The victim’s and driver’s names are being withheld.
