GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — As part of its bankruptcy process, ear-piercing, jewelry and accessories mall chain Claire’s, is closing more than 290 stores across the U.S.
This includes six in Wisconsin and one in the Appleton area.
Claire’s Holdings LLC, which also operates Icing, is set to close its Icing store inside the Fox River Mall.
The Claire’s store inside the Fox River Mall will remain open for now, as well as other Claires and Icing locations in Bay Park Square Mall in Ashwaubenon and in Oshkosh and Sheboygan.
The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in a federal court earlier this month.
If it doesn’t find a buyer, Claire’s would likely need to close more than 1,100 stores.
