BELLEVUE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A new monument outside the Brown County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing the men and women who have served the county in years past.
At a ceremony Tuesday, officials unveiled a wall that lists the name of every retiree from the sheriff’s office.
“This monument is not only a symbol of appreciation, but a lasting tribute to the integrity, sacrifice and unwavering commitment that defined their years of service,” said Brown County Sheriff Todd Delain.
He says the monument stands not just in stone, but in honor, gratitude and respect.
“With every name, there is a story behind their years of duty, representing more than just a career. It represents a caring person who walked with vigilance and a promise to protect and serve — upheld with courage through the changing times and challenging situations,” Delain said.
More names will be added to the wall each spring.
The monument was paid for entirely by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office Benevolent Association.
