OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — After spending months (or even years) at the Oshkosh Area Humane Society, these pooches are in search of their fur-ever homes.
OAHS currently has 10 dogs who have become long-term shelter residents, with their time at the humane society ranging from three months up to nearly three years. Some have unique needs, while others have simply been overlooked.
Officials say dogs who live at shelters for long periods of time are often very stressed, despite daily enrichment activities and interactions with staff and volunteers. August is one of the slowest times of year for dog adoptions, making now the perfect time for you to consider fostering or adopting a dog.
