(WTAQ-WLUK) — Canadian wildfire smoke has triggered an air quality advisory issued for almost all Wisconsin counties.
The advisory will be in effect from 3 p.m. Thursday to 11 p.m. Friday, with air quality expected to reach the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups to Unhealthy level.
The Wisconsin DNR says it is possible the advisory will need to be extended into Saturday for some parts of Wisconsin.
Currently, Northeast Wisconsin counties impacted by the advisory include:
- Brown
- Calumet
- Door
- Dodge
- Florence
- Fond du Lac
- Forest
- Green Lake
- Kewaunee
- Langlade
- Manitowoc
- Marinette
- Menominee
- Oconto
- Outagamie
- Shawano
- Waupaca
- Waushara
- Winnebago
Sensitive groups should consider rescheduling or moving all activities inside. As for everyone else, keep outdoor activities shorter and less intense. Go inside if you have symptoms.
People with asthma should follow your asthma action plan and keep quick-relief medicine handy.
Anyone with heart disease should be aware that symptoms such as palpitations, shortness of breath or unusual fatigue may indicate a serious problem. If you have any of these symptoms, contact your health care provider.
