GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Outagamie County leaders are one step closer to having a new place for pooches to play.
Officials broke ground Thursday morning on Brewster’s Dog Park.

“We wanted to kind of take a different approach, since this park is designed for our four-legged friends. And the way we look at this site, in general, is this first phase here incorporates the dog park. We wanted to break ground with the animals that are going to use it, so we involved Our Pack Animal Rescue to bring some adoptable dogs out and kind of break ground with the dogs,” explained Outagamie County Parks Director Justin Schumacher.
Schumacher says the 10-acre park will feature dedicated areas for large and small dogs, shade structures, an agility training space and an all-season restroom.
Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson says the $1.5 million dollar project is worth the investment.
“We could not think of a better location for this. We’re just on the other side of 41 and the interstate. So you’re talking about a lot of traffic coming through here every day. This is going to be an attraction, first and foremost, locally for residents, but this is also going to be a destination,” said Nelson.
Officials say construction on the 47-stall paved parking lot began last week. Schumacher says phase one is expected wrap up by Memorial Day 2026.
