NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The recently passed state budget includes money for expansion of Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue’s training facilities.
NMFR is receiving $200,000 toward the project at Station 31, 1080 Breezewood Ln.
Plans include the construction of a new training tower and conversion of the existing tower into a dedicated fire investigation training prop.
The training grounds are used by other departments in the Fox Valley.
In addition to state money, the project is also receiving funding from Winnebago County and the cities of Neenah and Menasha.
“This project is an outstanding example of what can happen when different levels of government — local, county, and state — come together to prioritize public safety,” Fire Chief Travis Teesch said in a news release.
Construction is expected to begin later this year.
