(DE PERE HIGH SCHOOL) – De Pere High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Andy Steger as head coach of the Varsity boys soccer team.
Steger replaces Justin Oshefsky, who resigned after one season with the Redbirds.
Steger previously coached the De Pere girls soccer team for 11 seasons from 2012-2023. He guided the Redbirds to a 141-54-15 record and five Fox River Classic Conference titles.
He has a 510-334-80 career record, including coaching stints at Del Rio (Texas), Green Bay Preble and Burlington high schools and St. Norbert College.
“Andy brings a love for teaching and for soccer that is second to none. Andy is also a teacher at DPHS, so his ability to connect with the kids, with the community and with our entire program will be a great asset,” said Athletics Director Jeff Byczek.
The Redbirds are coming off a 2024 season during which they compiled a 10-8-2 record.
“I am incredibly excited to begin working with the De Pere boys soccer program and to continue building on the great success the program has achieved,” Steger said. “I want to thank the administration for this opportunity. It’s a great day to be a Redbird.”
