ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — This football season figures to be a busy one at Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport, with special flights carrying fans to and from Green Bay Packers games.
Delta Air Lines is adding extra flights to take fans who want to attend the Packers’ games in Arizona and Pittsburgh. There will be a flight leaving Austin Straubel for Phoenix on Oct. 18 and returning Oct. 20 following the Oct. 19 game. The very next week, a flight will leave for Pittsburgh on Oct. 25 and return Oct. 27, a day after the game.
Visiting fans will also be arriving at Austin Straubel for games at Lambeau Field.
American Airlines is offering flights from Washington, D.C. ahead of the Sept. 11 game between the Packers and Commanders, from Philadelphia ahead of the Nov. 10 visit from the Eagles and from Charlotte the weekend of the Packers’ Nov. 2 game against the Carolina Panthers. Delta is also offering flights for the Eagles game as well as from Cincinnati the weekend of the Oct. 12 game with the Bengals.
Both airlines are offering return flights the day after the respective games.
“These nonstop flights offer more options for fans, reduce travel time, and support local tourism and business,” airport director Marty Piette said in a news release. “We greatly value our relationships with American Airlines and Delta Air Lines as they meet demand and enhance accessibility to Green Bay.”
Fans can find information on the flights from the airlines’ websites as well as Austin Straubel’s website. Travelers are encouraged to book early.
