EGG HARBOR, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Governor Tony Evers helped celebrate projects expanding rural internet access in Door County Thursday.
Gov. Evers was with AT&T to announce the first customers in parts of the Town of Egg Harbor are now able to begin ordering AT&T Fiber.
AT&T is working with the Town of Egg Harbor, the Town of Sevastopol, the Town of Sturgeon Bay, and the Village of Egg Harbor to expand internet access in those communities.
These public-private projects totaling over $24 million will bring AT&T Fiber to more than 5,400 customer locations in rural areas of Door County – offering network reliability for everyday needs, including virtual education, remote work, and telehealth access.
The projects with the three towns are also funded in part through the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin’s Capital Projects Fund (CPF) Broadband Infrastructure Grant Program.
