TOWN OF EDEN (WTAQ-WLUK) — One person died in a crash Tuesday in Fond du Lac County.
Several 911 calls were made around 2:10 p.m. reporting a collision at the intersection of County Highway B and County Highway K in the town of Eden. Numerous agencies responded to the scene.
According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, an SUV was traveling eastbound on CTH B and attempted to make a left turn to go northbound on CTH K.
The driver of the SUV, a 79-year-old man from Fond du Lac, failed to yield to a westbound dump truck, and the dump truck hit the SUV.
The dump truck then hit an eastbound cement truck before leaving the road and coming to rest in the ditch.
Officials say the man driving the SUV was pulseless and not breathing when emergency personnel arrived. Life-saving efforts were initiated, but he was pronounced dead.
A 67-year-old man from Fond du Lac was driving the dump truck. He was evaluated on-scene for minor injuries and is cooperating with the investigation.
The driver of the cement truck, a 61-year-old man from Fond du Lac County, was uninjured and released from the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team. Names of the parties involved have not been released.
County Highway B was closed for approximately four hours.
