GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A new artistic partnership is bringing together The Weidner and the Brown County Civic Music Association.
The collaboration was unveiled in a ceremony Thursday in the Grand Foyer of The Weidner. It was complete with a champagne toast and sweet treats from Cheesecake Heaven.
Since 1927, the Brown County Civic Music Association has hosted classical music concerts featuring artists from across the country and around the world. Their mission is to drive interest, attendance, and educational opportunities in the musical performing arts.
“The Weidner continues to celebrate the ART in Partnership with this upcoming announcement. Music lovers across the region will know Brown County Civic Music Association for the important work that they have done in presenting national and international classical music for nearly one hundred years in our community,” said Kelli Strickland, executive & artistic director of The Weidner, in a news release.
BCCMA also offers clinics and masterclasses for K-16 musicians. It is almost entirely volunteer-driven.
“For nearly a century, the Brown County Civic Music Association has brought world-class music to our community. Our new partnership with the Weidner Center marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, with all performances now under one roof and a more enriching experience for our audiences,” said BCCMA President Laura Fisher-Bonvallet. “Together, these milestones reflect our ongoing commitment to a stronger, more connected future in music.”
