Jason Reeves (Brown Co. Jail)
(WTAQ-WLUK) — Former Omro alderman Jason Reeves was indicted Tuesday in a federal child pornography case.
The three-count indictment alleges Reeves, 44, distributed child pornography in October 2024 and received child pornography on two occasions in April 2025.
According to officials, the investigation into Reeves began when a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was sent to the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
Based on the IP address associated with the cyber tip, it was then forwarded to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
On April 29, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Reeves’ residence and seized electronic devices. A news release states that when Reeves was asked if he knew anything about child pornography at his residence, he replied “probably.”
Court documents list Reeves’ sole source of employment as an alderman in Omro, but according to the city’s website, Reeves is no longer serving in that role and his seat is currently vacant.
If convicted of any of the three charges, Reeves faces a mandatory 5-year prison sentence and up to 20 years behind bars. He could also be fined up to $250,000 per count and would be required to register as a sex offender.
