GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Green Bay school board is accepting applications to fill an open seat.
Former member Kou Lee resigned May 8 after a Green Bay Press-Gazette report raised questions whether he lived in the school district when he won his seat a year earlier.
It will now be up to the school board to select someone to serve the remainder of Lee’s term, which ends next April.
Those interested in applying must live in the district and be eligible to hold the office under state law.
Applicants should send a letter of interest to the school district, including their name, residential address, phone number and email address, identifying the preferred method of contact. The letter should also address why the applicant is interested in the position and qualities the applicant will bring to the office.
Letters should be directed to the attention of Kinsey Lehr, the board’s secretary.
Letters may be emailed to kllehr@gbaps.org, delivered to the school district office in person or mailed to the office at:
200 S. Broadway
Green Bay, WI 54303
The application deadline is June 3.
The school board expects to interview finalists on June 16.
