APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Jeffrey Proski was sentenced Monday to 25 years in prison for an attack at a Seymour home.
Proski, 35, was previously convicted of mayhem, aggravated battery, strangulation and false imprisonment for the March 6, 2024 incident. He was originally charged with attempted homicide in the case.
He was also placed on extended supervision for 15 years by Judge Carrie Schneider.
Before the sentence was issued, Proski apologized.
“All of this was preventable (if) I would have taken care of myself better. This is not an excuse for my actions by any means. I wish I could back and do things differently. I caused a lot pain and trauma to the victim and her family, as well as my own. I hold myself fully accountable for all that has happened, and I am truly sorry for everything that has taken place,” he said.
When they went into a home in the 100 block of S. Main Street, officers located an occupant who had suffered serious injuries and requested rescue. The victim was transported to a hospital. Proski was arrested.
