APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Trout Museum of Art in Appleton will be saying “goodbye” to its current home this Friday.
From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., people are invited to celebrate the art and memories of 65 years. A Creative Place, the museum’s last exhibit, will be on display.
Admission is free.
The last day for visitors to check out the Trout Museum of Art is Sunday, May 18. The museum is open noon to 4 p.m.
The Trout will be moving to 325 E. College Avenue where it will share a four-story building with Lawrence University. The museum will occupy 30,000 square feet on the first floor.
“We will have three gallery wings so that’ll help us stager exhibits so we’re not closed when we’re installing,” said Ashley Acker, marketing manager for the Trout Museum of Art. “We will also be adding a cafe and drinkery, we will be adding a lecture space, some community gathering spaces, and even an outdoor classroom.”
The museum is expected to open in the new location on Oct. 11, 2025. Once open, admission will be free through 2026.
