JUNEAU, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A man accused of abducting a Beaver Dam teenager who is pregnant with his child was ordered to stand trial.
Gary Day, 40, appeared in Dodge County court Thursday. He faces two counts of child abduction and two counts of child enticement.
Day was found April 2 at a truck stop in Nebraska with 17-year-old Sophia Franklin, who is pregnant with his child. Franklin had been missing for two months and was the subject of an Amber Alert. She has since been reunited with her family.
Authorities have said Day and Franklin met online and there was a no contact order in place between the two. Police reported that while Day was on the run, he changed his appearance by growing a beard and mustache.
Day is scheduled to return to court June 3 to enter a plea.
