ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Resch Center and four-year-old Resch Expo played a large role in Green Bay being picked to host the NFL Draft.
While the facilities aren’t open to the public during the event, they are both playing large roles.
The Expo is home to the prospect green room, a workspace big enough for more than 600 media members, offices for vendors and league personnel and spaces for press conferences and one-on-one media interviews.
The Resch Center houses security vendors and acts as holding space for people involved in event presentations.
“Kind of a weird thing for us,” said Terry Charles of PMI Entertainment Group. “We’re generally the center of attention. We’re back of house for this event, but we’re happy to play that role.”
The NFL has been in the Resch Expo since the stage started being built on March 29. It moved into the Resch Center on April 14.
“This space is probably one of the largest spaces that we’ve had in the last few years, which is great from an operations perspective,” said Lauren Fischer, NFL manager of event operations.
PMI Entertainment Group, which operates the Resch, says it’s ordered more than 30,000 pounds of food over the past few weeks to feed construction crews, media members and others who are involved with the draft.
