APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Firefighters are stressing the importance of renter’s insurance after a house fire in Appleton.
It happened around 12:48 a.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of North Division Street.
The initial call indicated smoke and flames were visible. Upon arrival, crews found black smoke coming from a second story window. Crews brought the fire under control within five minutes.
Properly working smoke detectors alerted residents.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and it caused about $7,500 in damage.
