APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The suspect in an overnight Appleton warehouse burglary was caught with the help of drone and K-9 teams.
Just after 1 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a burglary in progress at a large warehouse located in the 600 block of E. Hancock Street.
Multiple officers established a perimeter around the massive structure and were joined by K-9 units from both the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office and the Grand Chute Police Department, as well as a drone team. The Appleton Fire Department’s Tactical Emergency Medical Support also responded to assist.
After a detailed search, the suspect, a 62-year-old man, was located and taken into custody.
He was taken to the Outagamie County Jail on recommended charges of burglary, possession of burglary tools, possession of methamphetamine, and a probation hold.
