(LAWRENCE ATHLETICS) APPLETON, Wis. — The Lawrence University women’s lacrosse team fell behind early Wednesday and couldn’t catch Cornell College in an 18-3 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference loss to Rams on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
The Rams grabbed the early advantage and then rattled off a string of 13 consecutive goals to put the game out of reach.
Lawrence (1-6, 0-3 NACC) tied the game early when Sophia Labrecque scored off an assist from Emma Perry to make the score 1-1. The Vikings later pulled to within 5-2 when Lydia Lueck scored off a pass from Sarah Dobrzynski. That’s as close as the Vikings could get.
Cornell (4-5, 2-1) then went on a scoring binge over the next two-plus quarters to pull away.
Evelyn Pryadkin made 15 saves for the Vikings. Cornell put together a 36-7 edge in shots and posted a 27-14 edge in ground balls.
