(GREEN BAY ATHLETICS) GREEN BAY, Wis. – Green Bay women’s basketball head coach Kayla Karius announced today that Gracie Grzesk has signed with the Phoenix.
Grzesk returns to her hometown after spending her freshman season with the Wisconsin Badgers. She appeared in 16 games during the 2024-25 campaign. Grzesk played a season-high 11 minutes and scored three points against Nebraska on January 20. The Green Bay native scored her first collegiate points against one of Green Bay’s Horizon League foes, Wright State, on November 5 in a 95-68 win against the Raiders.
“I’m so excited to be back home playing for Green Bay”, stated Grzesk. “I’ve been attending games and going to camps since I was a little kid. I am excited to carry on the winning tradition and play in front of the best fans in the country. Go Phoenix!!”
Grzesk is likely a familiar name to Green Bay fans. She starred at Notre Dame Academy in Green Bay, helping the Tritons win three consecutive state championships. Along the way, she became the Tritons’ all-time leading scorer (1,839 points), surpassing former Phoenix legend Allie LeClaire (Alexander). She earned multiple FRCC (Fox River Classic Conference) First Team All-Conference honors, as well as FRCC Player of the Year. Additionally, she garnered Associated Press All-State, WBCA All-State, and varsity letter honors. Grzesk also played club for the Wisconsin Purple Aces. Her career with the Aces was highlighted by a 25-0 season in 2023, culminating in a USJN (U.S. Junior Nationals) National Championship.

Gracie’s family has many basketball ties within the Green Bay area. Her father, Gary, is the head coach for the men’s basketball team at St. Norbert College in nearby De Pere, Wisconsin. Gary also played on the Green Bay men’s basketball team from 1992-1996, helping the Phoenix to three NCAA tournament appearances. Gracie’s mother, Liz, was on Kevin Borseth’s staff from 2002-04. She had a decorated playing career at Youngstown State, scoring 1,468 points while earning All-Conference honors three out of her four seasons, including a Conference Player of the Year accolade following her senior season.
