FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A man arrested after a high-speed police chase in Fond du Lac County earlier this month is also facing drug charges, authorities said Friday.
Justin Fena, 25, of Waukesha, was taken into custody March 4 following a 2.6-mile pursuit with sheriff’s deputies. It ended when the vehicle he was driving side-swiped a semi tractor-trailer hauling milk, went into the west ditch of Highway 175 and hit a telephone pole.
In a news release Friday, the sheriff’s office released new details about drugs and firearms discovered in Fena’s vehicle after the chase.
After Fena was apprehended, K9 Iro conducted an open-air search around his vehicle and alerted deputies to the presence of illegal drugs.
Methamphetamine, cocaine, LSD, THC, ketamine and MDMA (ecstasy) were seized from Fena’s vehicle, in addition to five guns — including two AK-47s — and a “significant quantity” of ammunition.
Police say they are continuing to investigate potential links between the drugs and firearms, which may result in additional charges in the future.
Fena remains in custody at the Fond du Lac County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond. Online court records show he is facing 13 charges, including 10 felonies.
