(LEARFIELD) PHOENIX, AZ – The Milwaukee Brewers weren’t very active in the offseason but this is almost like picking up an ace pitcher.
Right-handed starter Brandon Woodruff tries to take a major step in his comeback from surgery Saturday.
He will face major league hitters for the first time in nearly a year and a half.
Milwaukee will play the Cleveland Guardians at AmFam Fields of Phoenix.
If Woodruff can approach his performances before he was hit by injuries he could become the team’s pitching staff ace.
Whipping the White Sox: Thursday the Brewers defeated the Chicago White Sox 9-3.
Bryce Turang had 2 hits for the Brewers. Jackson Chourio drove in 2 runs and Mark Canha had his first home run of spring training.
