OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Oshkosh police are investigating two separate shootings. It is unknown if the two incidents are linked.
The first one happened around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday when officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Cherry Street for a report of numerous gun shots.
When officers arrived on scene, they found several people inside a vehicle. These individuals were detained and spoke with by detectives and officers.
A search of the vehicle turned up a handgun and marijuana and a search of a residence found another handgun and more marijuana.
A 19-year-old Neenah man was taken into custody and charges are being referred to the Winnebago County District Attorney’s Office against a 16-year-old Oshkosh boy.
Police later received information that another person ran away from the scene and was not located. Police are asking anyone with information as to this person’s identity to call 920-236-5700.
No one was hurt in the Cherry Street incident.
Then just after 10:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Dove Street for reports of shots fired.
An unknown suspect was seen by witnesses firing several shots towards a residence and fleeing the area in a vehicle. No one was injured as a result of this.
Police urge residents to report suspicious activities immediately.
