GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — At their Tuesday night meeting, the Green Bay City Council approved plans for the redevelopment of land along the Fox River, should the coal piles be moved, as well as a plan to generate more revenue at Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary.
The decision means the city will work with C. Reiss to come up with a master plan for the Mason Street site. C. Reiss is one of eight parties interested in the former Pulliam Power Plant site.
The company is offering to either purchase the site for $3.5 million or lease it for 25 years. This decision does not mean the city has agreed to C. Reiss’ proposal for the Pulliam site.
Additionally, it will soon cost more to feed the ducks and geese at Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary.
The city council also approved a three-part plan to generate an additional $90,000 in revenue for the site.
One piece includes raising the price for a bag of corn from $2 to $5. That increase is expected to generate an additional $60,000.
The plan also includes implementing an annual cage sponsorship program and the creation of an “Ottertoberfest” event to raise the remaining $30,000.
