GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — A local author’s book is uncovering Green Bay’s best attractions.
100 Things to do in Green Bay before you Die was written by travel writer and content creator, Sarah Conery.
Originally from a small town in the Upper Peninsula, Conery moved to Green Bay in 2015 and resides in the area today.
The book is broken into five categories including Food and Drink, Music and Entertainment, Sports and Recreation, Culture and History, and Shopping and Fashion. It shares an activity bucket list for visitors and locals alike.
“I tried to look at ‘What are things for families?’ and ‘What are things for a couple?’ So there’s a good variety of the higher-end things, but there’s also things like Bay Beach Amusement Park or the Neville Public Museum,” said Conery.
While writing the book, Conery says she made sure to give special attention to the hidden gems that make Green Bay unique.
“The big attractions in our area deserve a place in the book, but I really tried to focus on small businesses,” said Conery. “So when you support businesses in the book, you’re supporting our local economy.”
On Sunday, March 2 Conery is participating in the Authors Among Us book fair.
“There’s a ton of different genres that will be there, everything from children’s books to fantasies and mysteries, to travel books like I have,” said Conery. “It will be a great event that highlights a lot of local authors.”
The free event runs from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Cedar Creek Event Center in De Pere. For more information, click here.
