DE PERE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A health insurance program for seniors, people with low incomes and adults and children with disabilities could be seeing cuts.
Republicans are considering slashing billions of dollars from Medicaid. That announcement isn’t sitting well with some in Northeast Wisconsin, which led to a number of protestors gathering outside newly elected Rep. Tony Wied’s office Wednesday.
“It’s sad to me that the most vulnerable people in our communities are being put at risk. It feels like we’re not being seen as people who are worthwhile,” protester Amelia Gerner said.
