MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A new exhibit has opened at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum and it pays tribute to some of our state’s history.
“Ice Boats: A Wisconsin Tradition” is on display through late 2025 and features artifacts from the museum’s collection which include pieces of a historic iceboat, a detailed, scaled model and a full-size ice sleigh built in Wisconsin.
On top of the new exhibit guests can also visit the museum for its “Think & Drink Series: History of Iceboating,”
The event is set for Thursday, Jan. 2 at 6:30 p.m. Two ice boat enthusiasts will share the history of the winter sport and its ties to Wisconsin culture.
The event is free, the bar and the doors open at 6 p.m.
