HOWARD, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Signs of avian flu has returned to parts of Brown County.
The village of Howard says animal control recovered 17 dead geese from Duck Creek Quarry and continues to check the area for sick or deceased geese twice a day.
Dead geese have also been discovered in other areas of the county.
Due to the mild winter weather, the geese are congregating longer and migrating later, which is worsening the disease spread.
Residents are asked to report any sick or dead birds to animal control so they can remove them safely and quickly.
