(GREEN BAY ATHLETICS) GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay women’s basketball team fell 74-52 to the Creighton Bluejays at home Saturday afternoon.
Natalie McNeal paced the Phoenix (7-5) with a season-high 19 points and six rebounds. Jenna Guyer chipped in with seven points on three of five shooting off the bench.
Molly Mogensen led Creighton with 18 points and seven rebounds. Morgan Maly added 17 points including three threes made, and Lauren Jensen had 15 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Green Bay struggled early, falling beyond 11-0 before Maddy Schreiber made a pair of free throws. GB ended the frame on an 8-3 run but still trailed 14-8 after the first quarter. The Phoenix started faster in the second stanza, scoring four quick points. GB eventually cut the deficit to six after Guyer made a layup with 3:31 remaining in the second quarter, but Creighton went on an 11-2 run going into halftime, and the Phoenix looked to climb out of a 37-22 hole.

Green Bay’s deficit continued to grow after halftime, surrendering a 10-0 run in the final 3:38 of the quarter and went into the final 10 minutes down 54-31. Green Bay trailed by no fewer than 20 points the entire fourth quarter and fell to Creighton 74-52.
