(WTAQ-WLUK) — Multiple agencies fought a shed fire in rural Kaukauna Monday evening.
Just before 5 p.m., the Town of Buchanan Fire & Rescue was dispatched to W196 Clancy Lamers Road for a report of a shed on fire.
According to a news release, a neighbor had called the homeowner after seeing smoke coming from the family’s shed. After confirming there was a fire, the homeowner called 911.
At the time of dispatch, first responders were advised that there were no flames showing, only heavy smoke. However, when crews arrived and surveyed the structure, flames were showing from the north/northeast side of the shed.
Crews set up water supply and attack and went immediately to fighting the fire with ventilation being completed during attack. Fire was knocked down in approximately 15 minutes, and then work transitioned to overhaul to make sure all hot spots were taken care of.
The scene was cleared in about 2.5 hours.
Officials determined the fire was electrical in nature, with an undetermined origin at this time. Damages have not yet been estimated.
