ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Negotiations between Brown County and the C. Reiss Coal Company continue, but no action was taken after a closed session meeting Monday.
Brown County purchased the site of the former Pulliam Power Plant, located at the mouth of the Fox River, in the hopes of moving Reiss’s coal operations from just south of Mason Street, as well as expanding port operations. The county has secured $30 million for the project, but needs another $25 million.
On Monday, the Harbor Commission met in closed session for more than an hour regarding negotiation with Reiss, but no action was taken, said Port Director Dean Haen.
