(WNFL) – Stratford rushed for 255 yards and 2 touchdowns to defeat the Wrightstown Tigers 21-6 in the WIAA Division 5 championship game at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison on Thursday.
Stratford took a 7-0 lead 5 seconds into the second quarter on an 8-yard run by Jack Tubbs and never trailed against the Tigers.
Wrightstown responded with a 61-yard touchdown run by Trevor Vande Hey but that was the only score they would get against Stratford.
That run accounted for a good chunk of Wrightstown’s total yardage as they finished with 208 yards of offense.
Stratford finished with 286 yards of offense, 255 of it on the ground.
Vande Hey finished with a team-leading 83 yards rushing. He also completed 5-of-11 passes for 80 yards with 2 interceptions.
Stratford was led by Brooks Vanderhoof with 137 yards. Jack Tubbs finished with 94 yards rushing.
It was Stratford’s 12th state tournament final while the fifth for Wrightstown.
Stratford won the Division 6 title last year while Wrightstown lost in the Division 5 title game.
