(GREEN BAY ATHLETICS) GREEN BAY, Wis. –The Green Bay volleyball team got back in the win column Friday night, sweeping Robert Morris (25-20, 25-18, 25-21) at the Kress Center. The Phoenix is now 10-7 in Horizon League play and clinched a top-four spot in the league.
The Phoenix attack was paced by Cora Behnke, who finished with 18 kills on the day with a .298 hitting percentage. Katie Schulz was the only other Green Bay player in double-figure kills, finishing with 11. Defensively, GB had three players reach double figures in digs, including Abby Gardner’s 18, 15 from Kendall Schara, and 11 more from Calli Gentry. Gentry finished with 40 assists, the third time in the last four matches finishing with 40+ assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | The Colonials jumped out to a 14-6 lead to start. The Phoenix responded with a 7-1 lead to cut the lead to 15-13. GB trailed by two for most of the rest of the set until they closed the set with a 7-0 run to take it 25-20. Green Bay supplemented their offense with three aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | After concluding the first set 7-0, the Phoenix matched it as the start of the second set to go up 7-0. Four of the seven points came from Behnke kills. That seven-point lead remained the rest of the way with GB taking set two 25-18.
SET 3 | The two teams battled in set number three, eventually finding themselves tied at 15 all. From there, the Phoenix went on a 5-0 that decided the set. Three of those five points were also Behnke kills. Green Bay put together a .354 attack percentage with 21 kills in the set win.

COMING UP
The Phoenix will conclude the regular season tomorrow afternoon against Robert Morris at 1 p.m. Tomorrow the program will celebrate the seniors and season ticket holders with season ticket holder appreciation day. Green Bay has clinched a Horizon League Championships spot and will play a quarterfinal matchup on Friday, Nov. 22.
