GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Green Bay’s city clerk Celestine Jeffreys says everyone who wants to observe the Central Count will have a turn.
She says there’s only nine spots available for people to observe the Central Count, so observers will be rotated throughout the day.
As of 10:30 a.m., 234 absentee ballots have been entered into the machines to be counted.
Jeffreys says the number may seem low, but poll workers spend the first few hours actually opening the ballots and checking them against the absentee ballot poll book.
Jeffreys says if you have an absentee ballot, it must be returned to city hall before 8 p.m. All drop boxes are closed.
As of 10:30 a.m., 70% of Green Bay polling places have reported 3,200 voters showed up in-person to vote so far Tuesday.
Jeffreys also says the city has three voting machines waiting if they need to be switched out due to any malfunctions.
There was a machine malfunction reported in District 41. A technician was sent to that area to inspect. Jeffreys says she has not received an update on situation yet.
Another election update is expected this afternoon.
