(BREWERS/LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Brewers made a series of roster moves on Monday.
Among them, they have extended a qualifying offer to shortstop Willy Adames, but Adames isn’t expected to take it. The deadline for teams to extend those offers to pending free agents was Monday. Adames has two weeks to decide. The offer comes with a salary of just over 21 million dollars. He’s coming off a year where he produced 32 home runs and drove in 112 runs. Milwaukee is expected to receive a compensation pick when Adames signs with another team.
The other moves included:
- Declined the club option on RHP Colin Rea
- RHP Frankie Montas declined his mutual option
- RHP Kevin Herget claimed off waivers by New York-NL
- LHP Rob Zastryzny claimed off waivers by Chicago-NL
- 1B/OF Jake Bauers cleared waivers and outrighted to Triple-A Nashville
- RHP Bryse Wilson cleared waivers and outrighted to Triple-A Nashville
