(WNFL) – The season opener for the Green Bay women’s basketball team did not go particularly well.
Kansas State defeated the Phoenix 92-45 in Manhattan, Kansas on Monday.
The Wildcats got off to a hot start, taking a 28-7 lead after 1 quarter and 49-12 at halftime.
Natalie McNeal led the Phoenix with 14 points and 7 rebounds.
The Phoenix shot poorly, making just 30 percent of their field goals including just 20 percent of their 3-point attempts. The Phoenix also made just 42.9 percent of their free throws.
Kansas State which shot 47 percent from the floor was led by Jaelyn Glenn who scored 17 points. Kennedy Taylor scored 16. Temiera Poindexter and Serena Sundell added 15 and 12 points, respectively. Taylor had 11 rebounds for Kansas State.
