(GREEN BAY ATHLETICS) GREEN BAY, Wis. -Green Bay women’s soccer fell 5-1 at home to Milwaukee at Aldo Santaga Stadium to conclude the 2024 season. The contest wrapped up on Thursday afternoon after the game was suspended in the 62nd minute Wednesday evening due to inclement weather.
Green Bay finishes the 2024 campaign with a 4-8-5 overall record and a 2-5-3 record in Horizon League play. Milwaukee claimed the number-one seed in the conference tournament after concluding the regular season with a 10-6-2 overall record and a 9-0-1 HL record.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers pounced early, scoring in the 14th minute on a goal by Kristina Karlof. Senah Hanes and Trudy Quidzinski each tallied a shot but MKE extended its lead in the 18th minute after Karlof found Kayla Rollins, who blasted a shot that found the back of the net. Former Phoenix Zoey Pagels added on for the Panthers and eventually assisted on another goal as Milwaukee cruised into halftime with a 4-0 lead. Not long after the halftime horn sounded, there was a lightning delay. The interruption lasted 74 minutes before the teams returned to action.
Karlof tacked on another score in the 49th minute, making it 5-0 Milwaukee. Senah Hanes got Green Bay on the board with a score in the 84th minute, but it wasn’t enough in the 5-1 loss.
