(MARQUETTE COMMUNICATIONS) PRINCETON, New Jersey – Marquette University women’s volleyball dominated Princeton in three sets on Saturday 25-13, 25-21, 25-13 for their eighth win in a row.
The Golden Eagles (14-6, 8-1 BIG EAST) were led by Natalie Ring, Ella Foti and Aubrey Hamilton who combined for 33 kills. Ring had a match-high 12 kills while hitting .407.
Yadhira Achante had match-highs in assists (30) and digs (11).
A Natalie Ring kill gave MU an 18-8 lead in a first set that was dominated by the Golden Eagles. MU led by as many as 13 in the set while hitting .444 as a team.
Princeton got within one late in the second set, 21-20, but MU earned four of the last five points to take a two set to none lead. Aces by Aubrey Hamilton and Ella Foti made up two of the final three points for MU in the second set.
The Golden Eagles had four service aces in the final frame and hit .300 on their way to a second 25-13 set win on the day.
Princeton (8-10, 6-2 IVY) was led by Kamryn Chaney who had six kills and three digs.
NOTABLES:
- Marquette earned its ninth sweep of the season.
- Saturday was the first meeting all-time between Marquette and Princeton.
- Ella Foti led the Golden Eagles with a season-best .474 hitting percentage.
- Natalie Ring totaled double-digit kills (12) for the sixth time this season and third time in the last four games.
