GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — With less than three weeks to go until Election Day, Vice President Kamala Harris is trying to shore up support in the battleground Badger State.
Harris, the Democratic nominee for president, returned to Wisconsin Thursday for a trifecta of events across the swing state. She was last in Northeast Wisconsin two weeks ago, joined by Liz Cheney, one of Donald Trump’s fiercest Republican antagonists, at a campaign event at Ripon College.
She began her day in Milwaukee, stopping by a business class at UW-Milwaukee in her quest to drum up enthusiasm from college-age voters in the Democratic stronghold of Milwaukee County.
Harris then headed to southwest Wisconsin for a student rally at UW-La Crosse at the Recreational Eagle Center — the main sports and recreation facility on campus. A large sign on one end of the arena read, “A New Way Forward for La Crosse.”
The vice president’s final event of the day was a campaign rally at the Resch Expo in Ashwaubenon, in the shadows of Lambeau Field.
Harris says Wisconsinites need to consider their future as they vote for president in less than a month.
“I do believe that Donald Trump is an unserious man, but the consequences of him being president again are brutally serious,” said Harris.
Harris accused Trump of wanting to cut support for Medicare and middle class families, and prevent women from getting health care.
“One does not have to abandon their faith, or deeply held beliefs to have to agree that the government should not be telling her what to do,” said Harris.
She says Wisconsin voters should look forward and fight for their future, and reminded people to get registered to vote and to bring their ID to the polls.
