GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A new art installation in a Green Bay neighborhood is delighting neighbors and parkgoers alike.
Wooden carved animals – everything from birds to raccoons, to bears – are scattered throughout the park creating a scavenger hunt for visitors.
The nature-themed installations at John Muir Park are embedded into nature themselves: the trees.
The installation, which features 22 animals, is part of a new neighborhood association fall festival and was made possible through a grant from the Green Bay Public Arts Commission.
John Muir Park Neighborhood Association members applied for the grant last fall, and say the new display has already been a hit.
“These have just been installed and every time I drive very frequently through this park and I see people coming and walking and just pointing up, so it’s been a great experience so far,” says Jaime Fuge with the John Muir Park Neighborhood Association.
Local artist Ben Bushki of Manawa is the creative mind behind the sculptures and the project, which is called ‘A Walk with Nature.’
