GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Police are investigating a fatal crash between a pedestrian and a service van.
According to a news release Monday from the Green Bay Police Department, the crash happened in the 1100 block of Main Street just after 11:15 p.m. Friday.
Officials say a 29-year-old Eaton man was struck by a service van while attempting to cross the street. He was found laying in the roadway when police arrived on scene. The man was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, but he died Sunday.
Police say the driver of the van is employed by a service provider contracted by Green Bay Metro and is not a city employee. An initial investigation indicated that neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash.
The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with police. At this point, no citations have been issued.
