(WTAQ-WLUK) — Projects in two Northeast Wisconsin counties are on the receiving end of $189,000 in funding to support rural economic development, small businesses and job growth.
Officials announced the funding Wednesday. It comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Business Development Grants Program.
Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation will get $99,000 to establish a revolving loan fund serving at least 10 small, rural businesses in Sheboygan County.
Additionally, Oconto County Economic Development Corporation took home $90,000 to provide technical assistance to small, rural businesses in Oconto County.
Officials say the assistance will target those located in the villages of Suring and Lena. At least 10 businesses will be served with this assistance, creating five and saving another five jobs, according to officials.
