APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) — Hurricanes Helene and Milton may affect travel plans.
Jesse Funk with Appleton International Airport says they’re tracking the hurricane and flights into the airports in affected areas in the same way everyone else is.
“We’re not reaching out to them [the airports] and talking to them directly, we’re following their updates as they put them out and try to communicate to their travelers and their community about what’s happening at their airports.”
Funk says it’s difficult to predict what will happen.
“I talked to one traveler who is heading to Orlando on Friday and she doesn’t know what’s going to happen with the flight, and neither do we at the airport,” said Funk. “It’s a big wait-and-see game at this point.”
Travelers are urged to download their airlines app for the most up to date information on their flights.
