GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs will not be active for Sunday’s game in Los Angeles for what the team is calling “conduct detrimental to the team”.
Reports broke on Friday via Bill Huber of SI.COM that Doubs skipped practice Thursday & Friday over frustration with his role or “lack of” in the Packers offense. This reportedly led team personnel to go to his place of residence for a “well fare check”.
Saturday general manager Brian Gutekunst released a statement on the on-going situation.
“Unfortunately, we had to make the difficult decision to suspend Romeo for this week’s game. His decisions and actions during the week negatively impacted the team and required us to take this action. While we are certainly disappointed, we are confident that we will be able to move forward in a positive manner. Romeo is a valuable member of our team and we look forward to welcoming him back next week.”
This season over four games, Doubs has 12 receptions (20 targets) for 168 yards & no touchdowns.
