MENASHA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A drone was used to help track down two individuals who ran away from police in Menasha.
During the early morning hours of Tuesday, a Menasha officer spotted a suspicious vehicle hidden in a concealed area.
Suspecting possible drug activity, the officer approached, but the driver drove away, leading to a brief pursuit that was later called off.
The vehicle was soon found by Appleton police, crashed and abandoned.
Appleton police deployed two drones for an aerial search, and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s K-9 team helped locate the passenger. With the help of the drones, the driver was also tracked down and taken into custody.
