NEW HOLSTEIN, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A chemistry experiment caused the New Holstein High School/Middle School building to evacuate Thursday.
At 10:33 a.m. fire crews were dispatched to the school at 1717 Plymouth Street for a report of light smoke in one of the hallways of the high school portion of the building.
All students and staff were evacuated from the building prior to firefighters arrival.
It was determined the smoke likely came from a chemistry experiment performed under a ventilation hood in the high school.
The smoke was cleared from the building and students and staff were able to resume classes.
No one was hurt.
