EAU CLAIRE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance returns to Wisconsin Tuesday as he makes his second trip to Eau Claire in six weeks.
Vance, a U.S. senator from Ohio, is scheduled to speak at the Eau Claire Event Center at 4:30 p.m.
He was last in Eau Claire on August 7 — the same day that Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, visited Eau Claire to kick off their campaign as running mates.
Vance has made numerous trips to Wisconsin of late, including stops in De Pere and Kenosha. The Badger State as a whole has been a hotbed of political visits from Harris, Walz and former President Donald Trump throughout the past few months.
In a statement in response to Vance’s visit, Wisconsin Democratic Coordinated Campaign Rapid Response Director Kristi Johnston said:
In Eau Claire, JD Vance will campaign on his and Trump’s extreme and dangerous Project 2025 agenda to give him unchecked power and control over our lives, allowing him to ban abortion nationwide and spike taxes on our families while giving tax breaks to the wealthy. Vice President Harris has a different vision. She’s running to turn the page on the chaos and division of Donald Trump and build a future where our freedoms are protected and everyone has the opportunity to get ahead.
